Qualifying to become a dental assistant in California is neither complicated nor time consuming. There is no structured formal education designed to become a dental assistant. However, the Dental Board of California has certain training programs and exams which individuals should pass to attain certification and license to practice as dental assistant.
1. Enroll into a program like ours that is accredited by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. which means you will receive a Board-approved certification.
2. On completion of the program, you will be ready to join the dental work force.
3. To become a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in California, you must possess a radiation certificate (X-Ray certification), a coronal polishing certificate and an 8 hour Infection control training. Once these requirements are satisfied one can then take the RDA written and practical exam.
